Love Island host Caroline Flack has paid tribute to Mike Thalassitis following his tragic death on Friday aged just 26.
The reality star, nicknamed Muggy Mike, was found in a woodland near his home in Essex yesterday. His cause of death is unknown.
Host of the ITVBe show Caroline was amongst the thousands who paid tribute to the reality star following the devastating news of his passing.
She wrote on Instagram alongside an image of the pair: “Mike… you were a total gentleman… I won’t forget that … it’s so sad …you will be missed. RIP.”
Following the heartbreaking news, Mike’s Love Island co-stars also shared their condolences and their complete shock over what happened.
Love Island’s Chris Hughes wrote: “His name wasn’t Muggy Mike. Please stop brandishing that. His name was Mike Thalassitis, and every inch of my heart goes out to his family & friends. A good guy, taken far, far to soon.”
Jess Shears added: “In complete shock, was lucky enough to get to know Mike, he was the loveliest guy. My heart breaks for his family.”
Sam Gowland wrote: “Absolutely lost for words. not only made a friend in the villa but made a mate for life on the outside to !!! Absolutely devastated @MikeThalassitis R.I.P my mate.”
Olivia Buckland shared her thoughts, writing: “This is horrendous. I’m in shock. Mike you are going to be sorely sorely missed. My heart is with your family. I’m in complete shock.”
Mike was a former League Two footballer who found fame on the ITV2 dating show in 2017.
He also appeared on the fourth series of Celebs Go Dating last year.
He joined fellow celebrities such as Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson and TOWIE’s Gemma Collins on the show.
