Megan McKenna fans have defended her following her statement after the tragic death of ex-boyfriend Mike Thalassitis on Saturday.
The former The Only Way Is Essex star released a statement on Instagram saying she was “in compete shock” after it was confirmed that Love Island star Mike died by suicide.
Fans have now rushed to comfort Megan after she apologised for her absence from social media in the days following Mike’s death.

One fan wrote: “Starting to hate all this social media business! You shouldn’t be bullied not stating how you feel they are your feelings and thoughts. That business is nobody else’s! Hope you are doing okay.”
A second added: “I can’t believe you had to apologise. I didn’t even know him and it’s been on my mind constantly so god knows how you, his friends and family feel. Take your time xx.”
A third wrote: “You have nothing to apologise for sweetheart. Take care of yourself and hold your nearest to you closer. Sending hugs and strength.”
While a fourth wrote: “You don’t need to apologise. Look after yourself.”
Megan was shockingly trolled following the days after Mike’s tragic death, with Instagram users cruelly questioning her social media absence.
In a statement shared to her Instagram account on Monday, the Celebs Go Dating star said she was “trying to come to terms” with Mike’s tragic death.
Megan wrote: “Sorry I haven’t been on social media but I’m in complete shock and trying to come to terms with this. I can’t believe I’m even writing this post.
“My thoughts and prayers are with Mikes family. Rest i peace Mile x.”
