Well, that’s one way to deal with it. John Legend and Adam Levine sing while they change their babies’ stinky diapers in Pampers’ 2019 Super Bowl commercial.
Chrissy Teigen shared her husband’s amusing ad on Instagram ahead of the big game on Sunday, February 3, writing, “Becoming a parent changes you. And you thought I was extra.”
In the commercial, Legend stands over the couple’s son, Miles, 8 months, and says, “Hi, baby boy,” before he starts to remove the baby’s diaper. “Somebody’s got a stinky boo—” he croons as he grimaces.
“I’m gonna need some backup on this one,” he says turning to daughter Luna, 2, who throws a wipe in his general direction. Since that isn’t going to be much help, he seeks assistance from the choir of daddies standing behind him holding their infants in Babybjorns. “Guys?” he asks and they chime in as he sings, “Somebody got a stinky, so stinky, booty! Booty, booty, booty.”
The camera then focuses on a pair of tattooed hands, which belong to Voice coach Levine, who sweetly sings, “And Daddy’s gonna clean it up,” as he fastens the diaper on a baby girl who resembles 11-month-old Gio Grace, his youngest daughter with supermodel wife Behati Prinsloo. The couple also share daughter Dusty Rose, 2.
Levine also posted the ad on Instagram on Sunday, writing, “Every dad knows diaper duty is a right of passage” along with the hashtag #StinkyBootyDuty.
The Maroon 5 frontman and his band are set to headline the Super Bowl halftime show along with Travis Scott and Big Boi. Levine told Entertainment Tonight earlier this week that the show will have “the biggest hip-hop presence” in Super Bowl history.
The NFL championship game between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams airs live on CBS on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
